    Target Group

People who are frail aged, or younger people with disabilities who are at risk of premature or inappropriate institutionalisation, and their carers.

 People who are frail aged

The frail aged are people within our community who are not as capable as they once were because of advancing age. They may have moderate to severe disablities that cause some difficulty in performing daily tasks. They may have difficulty with shopping, preparing meals, using public transport and functioning as an independent person in the community. Some may have full time carers or concerned family to help, while other try to cope on their own.

People with a disability

A person with a disability is anyone who is physically or intellectually unable to perform everyday tasks unaided. In some cases they may be housebound unless assisted. Some people with a disability may need basic support to enable them to remain within their homes and/or allow the full time carer to rest or to have time to do other things.
