About Port Stephens Community Care

PORT STEPHENS COMMUNITY CARE INC

Port Stephens Community Care Inc (PSCC) is a not for profit organisation funded through the Home and Community Care (HACC) programme by the Commonwealth and State Governments.  It exists to provide an extensive range of services in the home and community to assist community members to stay in their own homes for as long as possible.  Without these services, clients would be forced to enter nursing homes or other simular institutions, because of their inability to care adequately for themselves at home.  The target group of clients are frail aged, younger people with disabilites and the carers of these people. We have Deductible Gift Recipient Status and have the authority to Fundraise under the Charitable Fundraising Act.

PSCC has its main administrative office in Raymond Terrace and another administrative outlet at Taylors Beach.  It also runs a kitchen and a Day Activity Centre (Sand Castle) for clients at other venues in Raymond Terrace.  PSCC is led by a Board of Govenors, consisting of community members drawn from the local government area.  In 2009 it has a staff of thirty-three (33) skilled workers and an army of two hundred and fifty (250) volunteers, who are mainly responsible for the daily delivery of services to clients.

Port Stephens Community Care exists so that our clients may live as they choose, for as long as they are able, in their own homes.
